Hmm...

I'm going to say this rendition is a bit thin. I don't know the source, but this just doesn't have any depth behind it.

There's too much reverb, and your instruments aren't exactly prime choices, either. Not completely terrible, but certainly nothing special, either.

Sorry I broke the trend...

... but I'm a perfectionist. This is a very good song, but the EQ feels a touch muddy. You went mid-heavy with that first instrument (which is awesome), then went rather mid-heavy with the rest of the instrument (which muddies the song a bit). The cello could have used a touch more realism (velocities and such), but it doesn't detract from the song so no worries.

Good game, by the way.

Repetitive and hypnotic...

If you were going for hypnotic, you hit it on the money. They repetitive harmonies are rather annoying, though, and the motion in the background of P5ths is relatively grating on my ears (look up parallel motion).

The instruments are sort of plain, but they aren't too bad.

Megaman, yesssss!

I love Megaman music, and MM6 I feel is just a bit under appreciated. Power to you for doing this.

The instruments seem to blend too much for me to pick out the source clearly, and the drums are quite bland. All that aside, it's pretty good. Not great, but I enjoy it, nonetheless.

Like good ol'...

...Perfect Dark. For the SNES. I liked Perfect Dark and the SNES, so you get points from me for that :)

It's a little bland, but I guess if your writing for a game that isn't too bad.

I think adding crunchy effects would do wonders for a song like this, because it just sounds a little too... clean, as it is. With lo-fi instruments crunchy is totally the way to go.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review, I'll try to throw in some effects in a bit

Let's break it down, dance style!

Wait, which X game is that from... I'm guessing 4-6, but I don't know which for sure.

Not bad at all. I enjoy it's rather straight forward take on the theme, and the instruments used aren't half bad. It's a little muddy in the EQ - I'd suggest bringing the upper EQ up a bit and lowering the mids a tad. The mixing is a bit muddy; I can't hear what the theme is supposed to be with the background elements so close to the forefront.

It would loop better if you just started when the theme comes in and cut everything before it (probably a second and a half).

Again, I liked it, despite the EQ and mixing - VG arrangements are great, especially when they're done well :)

What're you saying?

You need some instruments (at the very least, some sort of bass) - the voice isn't cutting it, especially as a loop. The bass drum beat isn't terrible, so I give you some props for that.

I've frequented this site for quite a few years, now, and support what you're all about. I can't draw worth anything (and my animating & programming skills are sub-par), but I'm a decent composer. If anyone needs something for a flash let me know.
